SWEET CHARITY

A hallmark of musical comedy, "Sweet Charity", shines with the creative genius of director-choreographer Bob Fosse and bookwriter Neil Simon. Celebrated for its blend of humor, heart, and iconic dance, the show has been a darling of the Tony and Drama Desk Awards, resonating with audiences through its vivid portrayal of 1960s New York. The story centers on Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess with a heart of gold and a perennially optimistic outlook on life, brilliantly capturing the trials and tribulations of her quest for love and respect in a skeptical world. Hits like “Big Spender” and “If My Friends Could See Me Now” underscore her quest, showcasing the resilience and optimism at the story's heart. "Sweet Charity" captivates with its mix of laughter, love, and Fosse's unforgettable dance, proving its lasting legacy in the world of musical theatre. This production is directed and choreographed by Fosse Legacy performer and Tony-Award nominee, Jane Lanier. TICKETS ON SALE MAY 1, 2024.

GYPSY

Celebrated for its profound narrative and memorable lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, "Gypsy" stands as a towering achievement in musical theatre. It's a compelling story of ambition, motherhood, and the price of fame, seen through the eyes of the ultimate show business mother, Rose, and her daughters June and Louise. Featuring iconic numbers like “Everything's Coming Up Roses” and “Let Me Entertain You,” "Gypsy" is lauded for its emotional depth, complex characters, and Sondheim's clever lyrics. This musical not only captures the struggles and successes of its characters but also serves as a timeless exploration of the human spirit's resilience. "Gypsy" remains a beloved classic, echoing the dreams and disappointments inherent in the pursuit of stardom. This production is directed and choreographed by SSTI favorite, Broadway's Jacob Brent.
